Rumors are going around that Amerie has been dropped from Columbia Records. Amerie first bursted onto the R&B scene with the hit song “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” which became an instant classic success. But albums after that saw lack luster sales and a string of bad singles that didn’t get the diva anywhere. Now Amerie could be out of a record label home. With the music industry sales be as poor as they are many of the B and C list artist are not going to get support or love that they use to. Artist like Amerie and Kelis, while both very talented, had extremely poor album sales and will find them selves out of recording contracts soon then later.

But mabye this is good for the artist. Artist need to take more control over their music and do it all themselves. With the way the net is going many artist can survive on shows and live performances and fore go the money milking that will happen to them if they sign their lives away to a recording contract.
