An Honest Opinion of Janet Jackson’s “Discipline”

So I got my hands on Janet’s new disc, “Discipline,” last night and had to give it a spin. Now before I tell you what I think of the record I should tell you that I do not believe in album reviews. I believe that people should judge for themselves on what music they like and don’t like. There are only a hand full of artist these day that I will spend my money on. Janet is one of them. I’ve brought to many $12.99 albums to only find 3 tracks worth of good music. Now with that being said this is my HONEST opinion of “Discipline.”

Now on a scale of 1-10 this album is a solid 9. The front of the album and really the first 6-7 songs are HOT! Feedback, Luv, Rock Wit U, Can’t B Good, 2Nite, and the title track Discipline are worthy of being singles on their own. This is probably the most solid Janet album offering in a minute. The songs are danceable and I know Rock Wit U will be played in the clubs and remixed. The best song by far is Can’t B Good. This song reminds you why the Jackson sounds is so good. It has that smooth R&B sound that once it hits the radio will be an instant classic.

Another song called Rollercoster is pretty good. I don’t know if I would make it a single but I like the song. And then there is the bouncy So Much Betta which will have the kids dancing. The song, The 1, with Missy is ok it’s not great. I didn’t really care for it that much and I don’t think it should be a single.

Over all “Discipline” is a great new album for Janet. I can’t wait to hear remixes and see the new video for Rock Wit U.
