Today at the State of the Black Union Jesse Jackson gave his full support of this moment in time. “Don’t miss this moment” said Jesse to a crowd of cheering people. Jesse talked about how during the time when Dr. Martin Luther King was coming up many Black leaders did not like him. He went on to talk about how Dr. King was greatly different from the leaders of his times. Dr. King has the ability to move and lead a massive amount of people. This was the trait and unique difference that none of the other leaders during that time could do. He then said that Barack Obama and this moment in time will allow us to move from a “racial battleground” to a “common ground” and then the people of America can move to a higher ground.
