Thanks to the youth market, bootlegging, and digital downloads..Lil’ Wayne is set to become the biggest rapper of all times. By his record label releasing “The Carter III” to Bit Torrent and allowing the youth to try before they buy, (i.e. tryvertising) those loyal Lil’ Wayne followers have put their money behind the man. Billboard is stating that Lil’ Wayne’s album has sold 423,000 copies in one day?!?
If these figures are true then every artist needs to release their album on the net weeks before it goes on sale and let the fans show their true support of that artist. And if these numbers are hold up this could be the biggest selling album of 2008 and beat out Mariah Carey for the best first week of 2008.
