Soul singer India.Arie is making her way to Broadway in a classic play. “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainboy Is Enuf” will be produced by Whoopi Goldberg for a September release. India.Arie will star along with several over female in this groundbreaking play that will be housed at New York’s Circle in the Square Theater.
The play was origianly produced in 1975 and there was a PBS version done that featured a young Lynn Whitfield and Alfre Woodard. The orginal play is written by authoer and playright Notzake Shange.
