Italian Vogue’s “Black Issue” Goes Into Reprint and Makes History

There was an uproar and outrage over the lack of Black models in Vogue. So Italian Vogue decided to do a bold move and make the July ’08 issue of Vogue feature all Black models. Well this issue has been so popular that it’s force the mag to go into reprints. “America … is ready for a black president, so why are we not ready for a black model,” said Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani. This issue has also made Conde Nast history as it it the first issue of any of their magazines to go into reprint to satisfy consumer demand.

Ebay has several copies of the magazine ranging from $45 – $400.
