Janet Jackson has exited Island/Def Jam for good. Janet was not happy with the promotions that the label was giving her and made it known to the public. The news was leaked via mega producer Darkchild’s video blog.

A rep for Janet Jackson also confirmed the statement via this message:

“At her request, the record label has agreed to dissolve their working relationship,” the singer’s rep said in a statement to PEOPLE. “Now more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album, Control, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label system.”

So what will Janet do now? With the excellent reviews of her tour Janet’s show all over the US are almost all sold out. Looks like she will probably sign a recording deal with LiveNation since they already handle her concerts.
