In November of 2009 a new off Broadway product of Dreamgirls will open at the Apollo Theater in Harlem NYC. The production will last through the holidays and then go on a 60 week world tour.
This tour will start rehersals overseas in Seoul, South Korea opening in February of 2009 and star. Korean actors. Robert Longbottom directs the new staging, with choreography by Shane Sparks, who we all know from MTV’s American’s Best Dance Crew. But on a surprising now this new version will now feature the song that Beyonce pinned for the Dreamgirls movie, “Listen.”
There is no word yet on if this production will land on Broadway at all.
