Twestival (or Twitter Festival) is a global celebration of
technology’s power to unite people and achieve social good.
Simultaneous events in more than 300 cities around the world are 100%
volunteer-organized, and every penny raised from ticket sales and
donations directly benefits Concern Worldwide.

NYCTwestival 2010 will be held on March 25th, from 7-11PM at Good
Units. 1000+ attendees will be treated to games, live entertainment,
and finally have a chance to meet in real life. Last year’s event
attracted significant media coverage, across all platforms. This
year, Twestival is expected to become a global trending topic on
Twitter, providing exposure to millions of people around the world.
Depending on ticket sales and donations, we expect to raise between
$40K and $80K for Concern Worldwide. VIPs will be given access to a
dedicated VIP lounge and bar; different levels of sponsorship will be
available, with the options to buy a table in the VIP lounge,

On 12 February 2009, the first Twestival Global was held in 202 cities
around the world to support charity : water, an organization that
works to help the almost 1 billion people in the world that don’t have
access to clean and safe drinking water. Over 1,000 volunteers and
10,000 donors raised over $250k, which resulted in more than 55 wells
in Uganda, Ethiopia and India having a direct impact for over 17,000
people. New York’s 2009 Twestival drew 1000+ people to M:2 and raised
more than $24,000 for charity : water.

In 2010, we turn our focus to education and the 72 million children in
the world who don’t have the opportunity to go to school. @Concern
Worldwide has been selected because of their comprehensive and
respected approach to education. Education is an issue that involves
many different elements: hunger, water, teacher training, building of
schools, etc. We hope to use the power of our global event
fundraising and social media influence as a vehicle to give people
insight into this cause on a deeper level.
