Lumete Eyewears NYC launch at The Touring Company, a super cool new store opening this Friday at 440 Broadway, between Howard and Grand streets in Soho! In addition to celebrating its grand opening (and Lumete’s launch!), The Touring Company will be participating in Friday’s Fashion’s Night Out festivities, with a party from 6 to midnight, featuring live music, gifts, free Isabels tacos with purchase, and a backstage look with the “roadies.” Among other amusements, the co-writer of “I Slept with Joey Ramone” Legs McNeil will be there for a reading and book signing at 8pm. Barbara and I will be at the store of course – please come by to say hello, try on our awesome sunglasses, enjoy the festivities, support independent business, and shop!

The Touring Company, Grand Opening on Fashion’s Night Out, Sept 10, 2010.

We are so excited about the grand opening of The Touring Company, which will carry lots of other independent brands as well. Just when you thought NYC’s Soho would be completely taken over by national retail stores found in any American mall, a refreshing new independent store arrives – on Broadway no less! The design team of Pompei AD, the architectural team of Steven Kratchman Architects, and the buying team of Global Purchasing Companies have transformed an ordinary retail storefront to the lively atmosphere of a concert’s backstage, filled with indie designers, art, music and film. The idea for the Touring Company was born from a former rock-and-roll touring exec’s wish to bring his passion for backstage lifestyle to the masses in a retail concept like no other. We can’t wait to see it!

Please find The Touring Company on their websitefacebook and twitter. RSVP for an all-access pass to Friday’s party at event 449.
