Last night Harlem Park to Park presented the Uptown Battle of the Bars Bartender competition.
Bartenders from all parts of Harlme competed to craft the best drinks made from Hennessy and Riazul Tequila. Len Burnett, owner of Uptown Magazine, Bevy Smith, star of Bravo TV’s ‘Fashion Queens,’ and Henny’s Master Mixologist where all on-hand to judge the drinks.
Bartenders from West Harlem, Central Harlem, East Harlem, and Washington Heights all competed in a 15 minute round to craft a drink from Hennessy. A winner was crowned for reach area and then went on to compete for the title of best Bartender in Harlem.
Naima was crowned Best Bartender in Upper Manhattan Monday evening at the Showdown finale held at Harlem Tavern. Ms. Williams competed against 11 other bartenders from West, East and Central Harlem and Washington Heights/Inwood in front of a sold out crowd of 200 supporters from each neighborhood.
After winning a final round battle with a mystery ingredient against 2nd place winner Thanos Rigas of La Marina/Washington Heights, Naima Williams was awarded with a bottle of Hennessy XO and Riazul Anejo Tequila by brand sponsor representatives.
The finalists bartenders from each neighborhood included:
1st Place Naima – Aloft Harlem WXYZ, Central Harlem
2nd Place Thanos – La Marina, Washington Heights/Inwood
3rd Place Claudia – Harley’s Smokeshack, East Harlem
4th Place Ronnie – Harlem Public, West Harlem
