Obama Delivers Race and Politics Speech

This is one of the most important speeches of our times about Race and Politics. Many people in our society still do not want to OPENLY talk about race in politics. But as NY has just appointed it’s first African-American Governor, times MUST move forward. Obama has taken the issue of race HEAD ON! No where in this speech does he back down from the race issue. He takes the issues of race full on and clearly removes himself from Rev. Wright.

But race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now. We would be making the same mistake that Reverend Wright made in his offending sermons about America – to simplify and stereotype and amplify the negative to the point that it distorts reality.

The whole Reverand Wright issue has nothing to do with "RACE", it has to do with the hatred that this "Reverand" has toward whites and the country. If anyone other then a black person would say these things they would be fired, stripped of authority, etc.and be forced (by their peers)to renounce this hatred.
Obama just about made it sound like the "Reverand" needed to be pitied for his ravings and we need to understand all of the "misgivings" that the blacks have gone through. Seems as if Obama has made it through life better then the majority of most people, how was this accomplished if blacks were held back?
