Bobby Brown cried on stage as he went ahead with a New Edition concert
just hours after learning of his ex-wife Whitney Houston’s death.

And the 43-year-old R&B star told the crowd in Mississippi: “I would
like to say, ‘I love you, Whitney’. The hardest thing for me to do is
to come on this stage.”

He then struggled to sing ballad Tenderoni and left the stage shortly
before the song ended.

A member of his family said that he was “beyond devastated” at the
news of Whitney’s death.

The source said: “He wanted to tell [the family] about it before it
hit the news. He didn’t want any of us to hear about it on television.

“He could hardly get the words out when he called me. He was sobbing,
and by the end of the call, I was sobbing too. He’s beside himself
right now.”

Bobby and Whitney split up in 2006 and divorced in 2007.

A source had told US gossip site TMZ that Bobby had been “in and out
of crying fits” after the shock news broke, but his New Edition
bandmates were reported to be comforting him.

Whitney Houston — Found Dead in the Bathtub

Beverly Hilton hotel employees tell TMZ … Whitney Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her room. 

As we previously reported, a member of Whitney's entourage discovered her responsive and called hotel security, who then called 911.

We're told police arrived to the scene within minutes and fire was already there on an unrelated call. Paramedics performed CPR, but it did not work and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.

Our sources say there were no obvious signs of foul play, but BH PD detectives have begun a full investigation.

As of this post, cops are still waiting on a warrant to search the room.
